Im a blessed man to have the support of this family. This is a great picture and in it you will see no tears, fighting, screaming or yelling! So, it’s not realistic at all and this is why I love it! It reminds me of the small percentage of time when it all clicks but I enjoy every minute of our chaos! When you join the dojo, you join this family! Take it or leave it!

True in a lot of cases: the student may be more or less skilled than the observer perceives. The instructor may be more or less. Some people have been promoted as a gift, a sign of respect, and even post mortem. Ive had students come in to the school wanting to maintain rank, be tested, not wanting to start over, etc. I get it. However, when the training becomes more important than the rank, then the true mastery of the skill is apparent.
