Styling with Yolanda evolved over time. I began my career in fashion working with a direct sales company called Ava Gray. It was not long after I began working with them that they sold their business to another business in the states called TuVous. Within two months of that purchase, TuVous changed their business model from direct sales to retail, 2 months after that they decided to close their doors. I believe they have re-opened since then but during the interim, I found myself in a place where I had to either quit or soar to new heights! I chose flight! Styling with Yolanda was already a brand I was working on and so it was a no-brainer. I worked countless hours searching for different companies that I could purchase fashions from. Some of the key criteria were quality, had to be Canadian based, comfort and price point. Soon I was buying from 3, then 5, then 8, wholesale clothing and accessory companies. Now I own my own boutique, Yolanda's Fashion Boutique on the north end of Guelph, and am offering new styles weekly, as well as my very own Yolanda's plus size line! My fashions can take you from all areas of your day, with all day, every day, style and comfort. It is my sincerest wish to be able to offer clothing that fits my tagline, "all day comfort and style", in a setting that is also comfortable and inviting. The boutique is a warm and inviting place to be and offeres several services such as personal style appointments available for booking, virtual style appointment, wardrobe consults, fashion shows, alterations, etc... and yes, I will bring clothes to you! I also want to help women see the beauty they possess within themselves. Women are very hard on themselves and it is my goal to help them see just how beautiful they are! Wardrobe consults are such a money saving experience as it allows me to help women to see what they have, by creating outfits from current pieces, and then moving forward, what they need to complete their outfits. The cost of consult is far less then what women would spend on buying pieces that they don't wear or have anything to wear with. The other benefit of a consult is we get rid of any negative energy hanging in the closet. Clothing that don't fit, clothing that you bought but don't really like, clothing that just takes up space, clothing that are outdated or worn out etc. With opening your closet being one of the first things you do in the day, you need that to be a refreshing, fun, exciting experience. Not a constant reminder of what is not working or fitting, or of money spent on pieces that are not getting worn. With a wardrobe consult, clothing is organized and pictures are taken of outfits so you can start your day feeling confident and excited about what you are wearing. It is also a huge part of my mission to offer quality brands, boutique brands, at prices that won't break the bank. I really just want to put smiles on faces! The only way this can happen and for me to keep my prices down is if I develop a clientele large enough, so the theory then is to make a little bit off a lot, rather then a lot off a few! I am still trying to figure out how to make it all happen, and that means there will be a lot of times where I learn what works and what does not work, but I am passionate about it and will keep going as long as I can!
